This book is about a boy named Marty and he sees a dog by the Shiloh school bilding and found out it was Judd Travers dog.Marty does not like Judd very well because he drinks,chews tobacoo,kicks his dogs, and shoots out of season. So Marty had to take the beagle back but it came back again so Marty built a fence to keep him in. One night a GERMAN SHEPERD attack Shiloh. One of Marty's dads friend sewed Shlioh but wiil Shiloh stay alive,will somone find out about the dog,or will Shiloh die?

Well the dog starts to follow Marty so he just decides to whistle. The dog goes flying up to Marty and keeps following him. So Marty gets home and tells the dog he can’t come in. The dog goes under the tree. Dad tells Marty he will go see if its Judd Travers dog. So he goes over and they found out that it was his dog. The only bad thing about that is Judd Travers mistreats his dogs or kicks them. The dog gets out again and Marty knows that he has to keep him. So he goes up on the far hill and builds him a pen and a lean-to. Marty names the dog Shiloh. The only things he has to worry about now is will Shiloh be quite? How will he keep him a secret? How will he feed him? One day Ma follows Marty while he is going to see Shiloh. That night Shiloh gets hurt and Dad takes him to Doc Murphy’s Doc patches him up and he says he will see if Shiloh is going to live. While Shiloh is recovering Judd comes into Marty’s house and finds out that Shiloh is hurt. Judd says they can keep Shiloh until Sunday. When Sunday rolls around Marty goes to Judd’s and they made a deal that if Marty works for Judd he can have Shiloh. I give this book 5 stars! By: Stephanie hayes
